Shawarma Plate

Ingredients:

Chicken Breast (in cubes or shredded) -500gm

For Marinade:
Garlic paste-1 tsp
Yoghurt-1/2 C
Garlic paste-1 tsp
Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper-1/2 tsp
Salt-as per taste
Olive oil-2 tbsp
Shawarma spice or Allspice-1 tsp

  • Marinate chicken breast with the given ingredients and refrigerate covered for few hours, preferably overnight.
  • Spices can be adjusted to personal preference.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  • Grease an oven proof dish and bake the chicken until browned and well cooked.
  • Shred the chicken if used in cubes.
  • Serve hot with Pita pockets, Pickle, Salad and Tahini sauce.

Notes:

  • The chicken also can be grilled under a broiler easily if shredded.
  • Shawarma spice is found in the spice section in most supermarkets nowadays. But Allspice can substitute it well indeed.
